Pro Elite Pair For Mera Peak

Aussie adventurer Claire Mackay is no newbie to the ice cold conditions of the Himalayas - after all, she's climbed the region 4 times. On her most recent visit - a summit attempt of the 6,476-metre Mera Peak mountain in the heart of the Solukhumbu region of Nepal - she took our relaunched Pro Elite Alpine range for her chosen comfort and protection. Read on to see what she thought of the latest technical gear to our range.

Pro Elite Alpine Range

I took the newly re-released Mountain Designs Pro Elite Alpine expedition range to Nepal for my recent climb of Mera Peak. I used the Pro Elite Alpine Down Salopettes and the Pro Elite Alpine Down Parka. I've used items from the previous Pro Elite range and these gear items remain my absolute favourites from the Mountain Designs brand.

Field Test

The Pro Elite Alpine range is designed to withstand the harshest and coldest conditions at the world's most extreme altitudes. This range is extensively tested and is a testament to the superior quality of Mountain Designs products. As someone who climbs at high altitudes, I feel incredibly reassured to be taking reliable gear to help keep me safe and warm.

I can passionately recommend this range to those who are seeking an upgrade in gear for adventuring in extreme climates. The range is windproof, water-resistant, insulated, and has a high fill power of DownTek™ treated goose down feather. The products have adjustable drawstrings, deep pocket space, zippable air ventilation and are brightly coloured with luminescent safety features. I will continue to use the overall pants and parka jacket for similar expeditions and have plans to use the Mountain Designs Pro Elite Alpine Downsuit for future expeditions over the altitude of 8,000m.
