Mountain Designs Sponsors A1 Adventure Racing
We're excited to announce our official sponsorship of the A1 Adventure Racing series in Australia. The Mountain Designs A1 Australia series will feature some of the most gruelling races on the planet, with this new partnership set to propel adventure racing in Australia to even greater heights.
What is The Mountain Designs A1 Australia Series?
The Adventure 1 Series is one of the premier national adventure racing series in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, bringing together the best athletes and races in the most challenging yet stunning landscapes each country has on offer. The Mountain Designs A1 Australia series is the Australian leg of the wider series, with a racing calendar that features a selection of races – all non-stop and varying between 12 hours and 48 hours in duration – involving the core disciplines of trekking, kayaking, mountain biking and navigation. Athletes race in teams of four, and points are awarded at the end of each race according to a results scale and accumulated over the series to determine the national adventure racing champions.

The Racing Calendar
Mountain Designs will be the major sponsor of the Australian leg of the A1 Adventure Racing series for the following Mountain Designs A1 Series Races:
2019
- Wildside - 36-Hour Race in October 2019 in the southern highlands of New South Wales
2020
- Race 01: Explore Gippsland - 24-Hour Race in March 2020 in the Gippsland region of Victoria
- Race 02: Rogue Raid - 24-Hour Race in April 2020 in south east Queensland

A Shared Love For Adventure
A1 founder and organiser Todd Vickery said the new partnership with Mountain Designs was one built on a shared love for adventure, an outdoor lifestyle, and exploring the natural world and one’s personal boundaries.
“Adventure racing is about people getting out there and pushing their physical and mental limits to better themselves,” he said.
“As a sport, it tends to attract those who love the spirit of adventure, survival, teamwork and racing.
“Mountain Designs is an iconic Australian brand that also has the spirit of adventure in its DNA, so to have them support our series down under is a real coup for the sport and will help us take it to the next level.
