How To - Change A Hiking Pole Tip

Most hiking poles are constructed with a carbide tip at the pole end to provide greater traction on standard trails or on slippery surfaces such as ice, snow and mud. These tips can also be covered with a rubber foot for use on harder terrain such as rock or concrete. Over time, however, both the tips and feet will wear, so follow these quick and easy instructions when you need to re-foot your poles.

Carbide Tips

  1. Using a spanner, unscrew the existing carbide tip.
  2. Replace it with the new carbide tip, screwing it firmly into place with the spanner.

Rubber Feet

  1. Simply remove the old rubber feet and firmly press on the new rubber feet.
