Mountain Designs Supports Turia Pitt on Her Everest Endeavour
Mountain Designs is delighted to support inspirational Australian, Turia Pitt, as she embarks upon a very important trek to Everest Base Camp. In her fourth fundraising trek for Interplast Australia and New Zealand, and first ever visit to Everest, Turia will help the not-for-profit medical organisation raise vital funds to help repair bodies and rebuild lives throughout the Asia Pacific region.
From 10 to 28 May 2017, Turia will lead a group of trekkers to the gateway of the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest. With a team of local guides and Sherpas, the 11 day trek will commence in Kathmandu, Nepal and see trekkers cross alpine meadows, forests, rivers and narrow tracks between snow-capped mountains.
As a platinum partner with a proud mountaineering heritage, Mountain Designs will be outfitting Turia and her team with Mountain Designs' gear to brave the elements in one of the world's coldest climates.
Turia's journey from Australian mining engineer, to determined burns survivor beating the odds, to humanitarian, motivational speaker and most recently, Ironman finisher, is one of this country's most inspirational stories. Mountain Designs has supported each of Turia's previous fundraising treks for Interplast — the Great Wall of China, the Inca Trail and Kokoda — and wishes Turia all the best for her Everest challenge.
